Andrew Davis, an acclaimed British conductor who was music director of the Lyric Opera of Chicago and orchestras on three continents, has died. The first season (2011–2012) consisted of La traviata (with Elizabeth Futral and Eric Margiore), Le nozze di Figaro (directed by Bernard Uzan), and Faust (starring Stefania Dovhan and Bryan Hymel).
